In the statement made by the Deputy Prime Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, the “Regulation on Reducing the Impact of Single-Use Plastic Products on the Environment” published within the framework of the Environmental Law No. announced to come into force.
According to the regulation, it is prohibited to provide disposable plastic products at points of sale for a fee or free of charge and to be included in any promotions or campaigns.
Among the products covered by the ban are plastic ear sticks (except for medical uses), plastic forks, spoons, knives, plates, glasses, plastic stir sticks, straws (except for medical uses), balloon handles (not offered to the consumer except for industrial uses), fast-food made of plastic. There are food meal packs and fast food meal packs made of expanded polystyrene. In addition, the products made of oxobiodegradable plastic are also prohibited.
According to the statement made by the Environmental Protection Agency, sales points using prohibited products can be reported to the ALO 123 Environmental Complaint Line.
